my general attitude is about life is inquisitive and positive, which helps me with this project in that i want to find out about a book rental program. i have a vested interest in it as well because i pay the outrageous prices that we all do for books here at UWM, and i see friends going to whitewater and they dont pay jack compared to us. they all love their rental program and some even went as far as to say thats one of the reasons they went there. with declining application rates and money tight due to the economy, renting books could be what UWM needs to attract students. i also want to find out why this hasnt already happened. the SA is already looking into it casually, and i think if more students knew, there would be alot more support than there already is. a behavoiral attribute i have is that i want to complete tasks ive started and this project will get done because of that. i also get along well generally with people and i think our group is stronger because we all share that quality. none of us have personal issues with each other or problems cooperating.

Caitlin Eggman's attitude blog
My attitude has affected my group in a positive way because I'm interested in the topic we are covering. Because I'm interested in what we're trying to achieve, have UWM become a textbook rental campus; my cognition, affect, and behavior all play positive parts in my overall attitude.
Because I want to know more about this topic, I'm actively involved in searching for background information about the issue and figuring out how we can solve it, which causes me to come up with pressing and intruiguing ideas, which helps my group delve deeper into this issue and come up with richer anwers.
Also, my feelings towards this issue are passionate and is what helps me search for answers for our issue, which in turn helps my team members.
Finally, my behavior is positive because I believe we can present this issue to the right people at UWM and get this program into action so all the students can benefit. This positive behavior helps bring a positive effect to my team members.

Frank's Attitude
Discuss how your attitudes and their three components (cognition, affect and behavior) have played a positive role in your project and/or impacted your group experience in a positive way.
The behavioral component of my attitude has played a positive role in our project because it is my intent to put forth all my effort and be the best I can be, no matter what situation. I also try to treat my group members fairly and with respect and do my best not to offend anyone.
The affective component of my attitude has played a positive role in our project so far because I try not to let things get to me. I am a very easy going person and like to think I am equally a very easy person to work with.
The cognitive component of my attitude has played a positive role in our group project because I have a firm standpoint on the idea of a book rental program here at UWM. I believe there should be a program put in place and agree with the goals of our group project.

Jason's Attitude
Discuss how your attitudes and their three components (cognition, affect and behavior) have played a positive role in your project and/or impacted your group experience in a positive way.
The cognitive component of my attitude has a positive affect on my role in this project because I have formed an opinion about our topic. I think that book rental is a good idea, so I will be more motivated to gather information and create a presentation in order to prove my opinion is correct. It will also be positive for my group work because we all share the same opinion so we will be able to work together instead of against each other.
The affective component of my attitude has a positive effect on my role in this project because I feel very strongly that books cost too much. Every year I experience the stress and panic on wondering if I have enough money for school and books. This will encourage me to pursue any avenue in order to find a cheaper alternative to purchasing books.
The behavioral component of my attitude has a positive effect on my role in this project because it will enforce my intention to learn more about our current policy. It will also promote my intention to be the best group member I can so I do not let my fellow Little Emperors down. I intend to fulfill my commitments to my group.

Book Rental
To make a change in the world, we have chosen to explore the possibility of a book rental policy at UWM. We will investigate the current policies in place at UW-Whitewater and UW-La Crosse. This will determine if the book rental is benefitial to students at both schools. We will then use this information to determine if this plan can be successful at UWM. We also plan to present our findings to the appropriate person. Among the actions we will use to obtain information are surveys, interviews, and data collection.
